Businesses are invited to a free superfast broadband breakfast briefing to understand more about different connectivity options and opportunities available in the county.

Essex County Council and Braintree District Council are jointly hosting a free countywide Superfast Essex Business Breakfast at The Discovery Centre, at Great Notley Country Park, Braintree, on Thursday 5th February, to reinforce the message that Essex Means Business when it comes to enabling companies to take advantage of the internet.

Essex’s ambition is to become one of the best connected counties in the UK and to help our businesses to develop and grow with the installation of superfast broadband.

Whether a business is just starting out, is keen to expand or simply wants to make sure it has the appropriate tools in place to function to its best ability – getting the right broadband connection in place is vital to that process.

Essex County Councillor Kevin Bentley, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economic Growth, Infrastructure, and Waste and Recycling, said: “Understanding the different broadband options available for businesses and identifying which solution would best meet their needs can be overwhelming. We want to equip businesses with the information they need to make the right choice for them and this Business Breakfast Briefing aims to go some way to achieving that.”

Cllr Tom Cunningham, Deputy Cabinet Member with responsibility for Economic Development, Braintree District Council, said: “Faster and better internet connections for our businesses will play a major part in delivering the growth we want to see, so we are very pleased to be investing in and supporting the Superfast Essex programme.”

The Superfast Essex Business Breakfast, from 8am to 9.30am, will provide businesses with an update on the Superfast Essex programme’s plans for a second rollout phase, offer an opportunity to find out more about the different broadband connectivity options available and highlight some of the benefits of having a superfast connection. Breakfast will be provided.
