Gigaclear delivery delays

Essex County Council holds a contract with network operator Gigaclear, who are working to bring ultrafast broadband to homes and businesses in parts of Braintree, Colchester, Epping Forest and Uttlesford districts.

We recognise how vital decent broadband is for homes and businesses in rural areas and we know that delivering connections to the hard-to-reach areas of the county is key to boosting the Essex economy.

If you’ve been directed to this page from our interactive map indicating that the completion date for your address is currently unknown, it’s likely that your address has been identified to be upgraded as part of this contract and you will be aware of delays on the build to some addresses. Essex County Council is working with Gigaclear via our contractual mechanisms to resolve some of the challenges that are causing the delay to the delivery of ultrafast broadband in the areas mentioned above, however at this current time there is no provisional date that can be provided for your property.
